Swissport International wins prestigious air cargo handling award for third successive year

Swissport is delighted to have been voted Air Cargo Handling Agent of the Year by readers of Air Cargo Week for the third consecutive year, reconfirming our leading position in the ground handling sector.

“Together with Swissport’s 34,000 people around the world, I am truly proud to have won this award,” said Per Utnegaard, President and CEO of Swissport Group. “It is a real testament to the dedication of our staff and a tribute to the quality of our services and the focus we maintain to fulfil the needs and requirements of all our customers and stakeholders.”

John Batten, Executive Vice President Global Cargo at Swissport International, said: “Our business partners evidently appreciate the many efforts we have been making to further enhance the quality of our products and services. These are clearly bearing fruit, and winning this award for the third year in succession also demonstrates the consistency of our performance. I would like to praise everyone within our cargo division for all they have done to help substantially raise the performance of Swissport Cargo Services.”

Batten also expressed his appreciation to customers for their continued support. “We also see awards like this as a commitment to our customers going forward, and an obligation to continue to justify the trust people place in us,” he added.

Swissport achieved a number of milestones during the past year, including the start up of a new hub operation in Munich, and securing a number of important long-term contracts providing Ground Handling and Cargo services. The quality of Swissport’s services was also recognised through several other international awards, including Best Ground Handling Services Company from the Institute of Transport Management for the eleventh year in succession.

The Swissport Group is optimistic about the prospects for 2011 and looks forward to achieving above-average growth in its network, product range and innovation.
